The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be holding to events on Saturday, September 27, for the community.
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. that day, there will be a free green bean pressure-canning workshop where the beans and quart jars will be provided.
Those interested in attending need to RSVP by Friday, September 26, to 814-617-0914.
Later that evening, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the church will be showing “Raising the Bar: The Alma Richards Story” which tells the story of an eighth grader who quits school in 1908 to work as a ranch hand, but meets a professor who motivates him to resume his education, leading to competing in the high jump and winning a gold medal at the Stockholm Olympics.
The movie is a free outdoor movie with free popcorn and water.
Organizers ask you bring your own blanket, chair, and candy.
Both events are located at 200 Douglas Street in Hancock.
