Spooky season is coming

by Geoff Fox

We’re two weeks away from Halloween and there’s plenty of opportunities to celebrate.

On Wednesday, October 28, the Hancock Rotary will be holding their 79th annual Halloween Parade at 7 p.m. along Main Street. A rain date is set for Thursday, October 29.

Organizer Autumn Williamson said Rotary is still looking for entrants into the parade.

If you, your organization, or your business want to enter the parade, you can contact Williamson at 443-532-4084 or [email protected].

There will also be multiple chances to go trick or treating for the kids.

National Pike events

The National Pike area will have Trick or Treat Friday evening, October 30 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. That area includes National Pike, Western Pike, Rice Road, Exline Road, Woodmont Road, and Resley Road.

As part of the National Pike festivities, the Apple Tree Inn will be hosting a Goolish Glow Party with a DJ, Bill Creek will be grilling up haunted hot dogs for the community on Dove Lane, and Mount Olivet Presbyterian Church and congregation will hold a Trunk or Treat off of Exline Road.

In Little Orleans, Mountain Man Autobody will be having their first annual Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 31, starting at 6 p.m. until “the witching hour” or when the candy is gone.

Mountain Man Autobody is located at 11101 John O Price Road N.E. in Little Orleans.

Anyone participating in any of the Trick or Treat events are asked to turn their porch lights on so kids can know which houses are handing out candy.
