Evelyne Louise Baker, age 87, of Martinsburg, W.Va., passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at her home in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born on February 23, 1939 in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of Nellie Russell Puffinburger Fox.

Evelyne graduated from Berkeley Springs High School and was a member of Calvary Bible Church.

She was employed at Vanguard, Dairy Queen, Hoffman Chevrolet and Wolf’s Furniture.

She loved boot kicking, square dancing, line dancing and oil painting.

She is survived by three daughters, Deborah Coleen McElhaney (Dennis), Marion Elizabeth Stotler (Earl) and Michelle Lynn Feltner (Jerry), all of Martinsburg, W.Va., one sister, Kimberly Kerns of Hancock, Md., two brothers, Stephen McBee of Martinsburg, W.Va. and Danny McBee of Hedgesville, W.Va., six grandchildren, Matthew Stotler, Heather Stotler, Paul Stotler and Derick McElhaney, all of Martinsburg, W.Va., Zachary Hudgeons of Louisiana, and Evelyne Fisher of Hagerstown, Md., seven great-grandchildren, Kiera Jones, Silas Jones, Lucas Jones, Ronan McElhaney, Tyrian Stotler, Braeden Stotler and Mitchell Stotler, all of Martinsburg, W.Va. and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Paul Baker, her first husband Paul Leonadise Kave, and two sisters, Peggy Waugh and Judith Shriver.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 1 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. with Pastor Josh Rider officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to service time on Thursday. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Evelyne’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-9959.
