Betty Louise Waugh, 84, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at her home.

Born August 24, 1941 in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of Ervin Byron and Virginia Louise Munday Potter.

Betty was a Christian. She attended Morgan County schools.

She was a homemaker and loved watching TV, especially Days of Our Lives and game shows. She enjoyed old country music and was a huge Elvis fan. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family and taking care of her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Ricky Lee Waugh (Crystal) of Inwood, W.Va., Randy Lester Waugh (Tammy), Lisa Lynn Coble and Frances Louise Waugh, all of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; four grandchildren, James Waugh, Elizabeth Waugh (Homer), Ross Waugh (Melissa) and Andrew Coble, Jr. (Kayla); thirteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Lester Waugh in 2021; one grandchild, Jeremy “JP” Whiteside and two brothers, James Potter and Johnny Potter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., with Pastor Kenny Mason officiating. Interment will be in Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Betty’s memory may be made to Hospice of The Panhandle, 330 Hospice Drive, Kearneysville, WV 25430 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

The family would like to thank Hospice of the Panhandle for the care they had given to their loved one.
