Lois “Jean” Clingerman
1931-2025
Lois “Jean” Clingerman, 94, of Little Orleans, Md.; passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, MD.
She was born on May 12, 1931 in Holsopple, Pa.; a daughter of the late Ray P. and Jessie (Robinette) Sleek.
On April 22, 1948 in Flintstone, Md.; she was united in marriage to Estol Akers Clingerman. He preceded her in death on June 10, 2013.
She is survived by the following children Gloria J. Dilley-Robinette, Artemas, Pa.; Sandra A. married to David Keckley, Artemas, Pa.; Sheila K. married to Bill McCusker, Little Orleans, Md.; Pamela S. married to Craig McCusker, Little Orleans, Md.; Patricia D. married to Bradley Hofe, Little Orleans, Md.; Estol A. Clingerman, Jr. married to Lori (Foor), Bedford, Pa.; Lindsy R. Clingerman married to Natalie (Hartley), Artemas, Pa.; and Jennifer L. married to David Yonker, Little Orleans, Md.; 21 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and 28 great-great-grandchildren and two more great-great-grandchildren on the way.
She was preceded in death by a grandson Justin Dilley; great grandson Cohen Ray and siblings Ray Sleek, Jr, Norma Price, Betty “Babe” Morris, William Sleek and infant brother James.
Mrs. Clingerman was of the Christian faith. Jean served on the Artemas American Legion Auxiliary for many years. Throughout the years she waitressed at various restaurants, she enjoyed playing cards, going on vacation, traveling and spending time with her family. She loved her hugs from grandchildren. Jean also enjoyed cooking and baking for everyone, word search puzzles, bird watching, going to casinos, and enjoyed getting flowers.
Family and Friends may call at the Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 3-8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the Fairview Christian Church with Pastor Tom Mowry officiating. Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery.
