Bellysima Bellydance and the Hancock Arts Council present An Afternoon of Bel- lydance Middle Eastern dance show on November 10, at 2 p.m. This event will take place at the Hancock Performing Arts Center, 126 High Street, Hancock, showcasing a rich tapestry of dance styles including modern Egyptian, Raqs Sharqi, Romany skirt dancing, American tribal style, Shaabi, Saidi, fan dancing, sword fusion, veil dancing and Flamenco Arabe.
The performance honors the diversity and beauty of Middle Eastern dance. The show will feature a range of performers, from student troupes to professional dancers and dance teachers from the four-state region. Each dancer will bring their own interpretation and flair to the stage, creating an unforgettable experience for all.
Audiences will be treated to the elegance of classical Egyptian movements, the lively energy of Romany skirt dancing, and the dynamic expressions of American tribal style, all set against the back- drop of a wide array of middle eastern music. Highlights will also include mesmerizing fan dancing, the striking artistry of sword fusion, the infectious stylings of Egyptian pop and the passionate rhythms of Flamenco Arabe.
