Hancock library to host holiday movie, craft and family events

The Hancock Veterans Memorial Library will host a matinee showing of the holiday movie “Elf” on Saturday, December 10 starting at 2 p.m.

The special event is for families to celebrate the holiday season.

The library will have a matinee showing of the movie along with refreshments and a take-home craft for our young attendees.

During December, the library will also offer a “decorate your own ornament” activity for teens as part of the TeenZone in the Hancock library. The DIY project will be available this Thursday, December 1.

On Saturday, December 17, the library will hold a Family Craft Day to make a Recycled Bottle Gnome.

Create a cute DIY Gnome from a recycled water bottle. This craft is for ages five and up. Children under the age of 10 require adult supervision due to the use of hot glue.

If you can’t attend in person, this craft can be sent to your home branch for you to pick up. Take-and-makes do not include a hot glue gun or glue sticks.

Register for the Family Craft Day from now until December 15 to ensure there are enough supplies for attendees.
