Valley Art Association to host “Cityscapes” exhibit this month

The Valley Art Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been promoting the arts and artists in the tri-state Cumberland Valley since 1938, will host a new art exhibit during November at the Mansion House Art Center & Gallery in Hagerstown City Park.

“Cityscapes,” an exhibit by Valley Art Association member artists, will hang from November 4 through November 27. The show hangs in the North Gallery of the Mansion House Art Center & Gallery, located at 480 Highland Avenue in Hagerstown City Park.

The center is open for the exhibit on Fridays & Saturdays, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays 1-5 p.m. Admission is free.

“Art in the Hallway”

A collaboration of the VAA and Meritus Medical Center, the “Art in the Hallway” exhibit shows works by artist Chris Shingler. Shingler’s art will be on display during the month of November in “the link” between the hospital’s main entrance and Same Day Surgery Center, Hagerstown.

General Meeting

Valley Art Association will hold its November General Meeting, which is open to the public.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 16 at 7 p.m. at the Mansion House Art Center & Gallery in Hagerstown City Park.

The business meeting will be followed by a demonstration by Shippensburg artist Kent Roberts, who will show his methods of caricature art. The events are free and open to the public.
