The students at Southern Fulton have been working on their projects, demonstrations and displays all year and are ready to share them with the community.
The Southern Fulton High School Annual STEAM Festival will be held Sunday, May 4 from 12-3 p.m. at the Southern Fulton High School.
The STEAM Festival is a free event for the public with lots of interactive children’s activities and makerspaces. Student artwork and projects from various disciplines are on display.
New this year, senior artist Kiley Russell will be donating proceeds from her Senior Project -a Silent Art Auction, to the Women’s Center in McConnellsburg. She has
paintings, illustrations and several ceramic pieces that will be included in the silent auction. Bidders must have cash or checks payable at the time of the event, to claim their art piece. Bids will be accepted between 12 noon and 2:30 p.m. Winners will be announced at 2:45 p.m., and will be able to pay and claim their pieces thereafter.
Senior children’s book author and illustrator, Hannah Wolfe will also be on hand to sign copies of her new children’s book and will have information available on how to order her new publication.
There will also be displays in the Agricultural shop and a display showcasing the student designs for the PA Turnpike Bike Trail Bike Wash.
All of this plus hundreds of pieces of student art, math, engineering, science and Ed. technology projects. There will also be raffles and a food truck with some of the proceeds going towards the
Southern Fulton Art Honor Society. Student science demonstrations and student musician performances round out this annual event.
