Two Needmore residents were victims of a road rage incident on Lincoln Highway in the McConnellsburg area in the early morning hours of Monday, April 15.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, the incident occurred as an unnamed suspect was operating a vehicle at a high rate of speed on the highway in the oncoming lane of westbound Lincoln Highway.
Police did not identify the suspect or the suspect’s vehicle.
According to police, the suspect drove directly towards a 54-year-old Needmore resident driving a 2015 gray Ford F350.
Police said the driver of the pickup had to move his vehicle onto the right shoulder to avoid getting hit head-on by the suspect’s vehicle.
The suspect then turned the vehicle around quickly on the roadway, sped up, and got closely behind the pickup before driving in the opposing lane and beside the pickup.
The suspect then purposely rammed the side of the pickup twice with the right side of his vehicle.
Police said the suspect then passed the pickup and drove his vehicle up closely behind a second vehicle who was in front of the pickup.
The suspect then allegedly twice purposely rammed the left side of a green Jeep, driven by a 49-year-old Needmore man, with the right side of his vehicle.
Police said the suspect is being investigated for aggravated assault along with numerous other criminal and traffic offenses. Trooper G. Hibner is the investigating officer in the case.
