The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will be holding two events in the coming weeks.
The first is a fireside chat on Sunday, November 9, with three guest speakers called “Weathering the Spiritual Storms of Life.”
The chat will take place at the church located at 200 Douglas Street in Hancock from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Refreshments will be served and it is a free community activity.
Festival of trees
The second event is the third annual Festival of Trees this December.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is hosting the event on Friday, December 5, and Saturday, December 6, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the church on Douglas Street.
The event is free for the public.
In addition to viewing the trees, there will be nativity displays, kids corner with activities, picture book for selfies, Christmas video, free refreshments, and the Family History Center will be open.
All who attend will be able to vote for their favorite trees as well.
There will be a few new activities at this year’s event that includes a scavenger hunt and the chance for visitors to try their hand at playing Christmas songs using hand bells with a follow-along video.
Local businesses, non-profit organizations, clubs, and families are invited to register to bring and decorate an artificial tree to share their mission or loved one’s memory.
The deadline to register is November 14 and signing up can be done online by emailing the event organizer at [email protected] and a link to the registration form will be emailed to you.
Set up for the event is scheduled for December 1, 2, and 4 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and December 3 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
