Washington County government has launched the 2025 Washington County Ice Cream Trail once again and offering residents and visitors a delicious way to explore the county.
The event started last Tuesday, June 3, and runs until Monday, September 22, which is the last day of summer.
The Ice Cream Trail is designed to highlight the best local ice cream shops in the area and provide a fun and tasty journey for ice cream enthusiasts of all ages.
There are 13 stops along the trail with BuddyLou’s being the stop in Hancock.
Others include Sweetsies’ Eats & Treats in Clear Spring; Cow’s Cones and Potomac Street Creamery in Boonsboro; Deliteful Dairy, Scoop-A-Licious & More, and Ruth’s Market in Williamsport; Maugansville Creamery in Maugansville’ Misty Meadow Farm Creamery and Debbie’s Soft Serve in Smithsburg; Mountain Top Ice Cream Shop in Cascade; Nutter’s Ice Cream in Sharpsburg; and The Big Dipper in Hagerstown.
Participants are encouraged to visit each stop on the trail, enjoying unique flavors and supporting local businesses.
You can download the map for the Ice Cream Trail from the county’s website washco-md.net/icecreamtrail. The PDF file includes the addresses, phone numbers, hours of operation, and payment types accepted.
Those on Facebook can also join the official Washington County Ice Cream Trail Group to connect with others traversing the trail.
Once the map has been downloaded and printed, all you have to do is visit each of the listed ice cream shops for an ice cream and have them stamp your map. When completed, the completed map can be submitted via online or by mail.
Everyone who completes the trail by the end of the summer will receive a free commemorative t-shirt to celebrate their accomplishment.
