The Lady Panthers ramped up their play in the third inning, pounding their way into a 10-8 lead in the sixth inning with seven runs. The girls clawed another run out in the seventh inning to keep their winning edge, but finally fell to the Cardinals in extra inning play. It was the first winning game of the Forbes Road season.

The loss followed another tight game that left the Panthers just a run shy of victory.

Last Tuesday, April 16, Hancock took the lead early against the Berkeley Springs Indians, gaining a 6-4 edge in the fifth inning. But the Tribe connected heavily in the seventh inning, adding five runs to the board for a final score of 9-8.

The Lady Panthers are set to play Forbes Road again on Friday, April 26 and then host Fort Hill on Saturday, April 27 at 11 a.m.
