Panthers’ indoor track and field team members medal at state championships

The Hancock Panthers’ indoor track and field team returned from the Maryland state championships at Prince George’s Sports Complex on February 20 with a gold and a bronze medal in two individual events.

Senior Josie Foltz won gold in shot put with a personal best of 33 feet, 7.5 inches. She entered the state competition ranked third and left in first place.

Senior Aidan Faith won bronze in the girls’ high jump, coming in third in the state at four feet and ten inches.

Senior Aidan Faith earned a bronze medal in girls’ high jump at the Maryland state championships for indoor track and field on February 20.

“The girls were picked to finish 16th in the state out of 50 schools. They finished 11th overall,” said head coach Brian Foltz, in his first year with the Panthers.

Sophomore Logan Trumpower, a first-year jumper, competed in the boys’ high jump event at the state championships in Landover.
