Hancock baseball denied Fort Hill’s home field advantage last Wednesday, April 17 as they blasted their way into a fifth-inning lead that held for a final win of 6-5.

No runs hit the scoreboard for either the Panthers or the Sentinels in the opening innings of Wednesday’s game, but Hancock turned the tide with a six-run inning that Fort Hill couldn’t catch up to.

Sophomore Tyler Clingerman, junior Shawn Thomas, sophomore Brooks Norris, freshman Logan Hendershot, junior Hayden McCarty and junior Blaire Ray each added to the Panther score column at Hot Stove Memorial Field.

On Friday, April 19, Hancock kept their home field on a winning level, beating the Forbes Road Cardinals 9-6, hinging on another heavy inning of scoring.

The Panthers kept pace with Forbes Road for the first three innings, then roared out ahead in the fifth, adding four runs to build a solid lead that stuck.

Junior Shawn Thomas and junior Logan Trumpower each added two runs for the Panthers, with single runs brought in by sophomore Tyler Clingerman, freshmen Colton Welch and Chandler Buskirk, senior Jeremiah Thomas and junior Blair Ray.

The Panthers hosted the Paw Paw Pirates on Tuesday, April 23, and then will travel to Forbes Road on Friday, April 26.
