Pennsylvania Elks holds soccer shoot

Chambersburg Elks Lodge #600 Local held their Soccer Shoot on Sunday, November 20, at the Alumni Community Building in McConnellsburg, Pa.

The players received decorations with their name and score on it and a medal for their placement.

The Sheeder family donated two raffle items to help with cost of the Elks Soccer Program. Tanner Sheeder won the Farmsi Basket and Dan Lake won the Home Décor Basket

Hoyt Glenn, son of Crystal and Jeff Glenn, of McConnellsburg, won the 2022 Pa. State Elks Soccer Shoot that was held on Sunday, November 6. Glenn shot in the U-14 Boys Division and will compete in the Mid-Atlantic National Finals on Saturday, March 11, 2023 in York, Pa.

The following boys and girls represented the South Central District and the Chambersburg Elks Lodge #600: In U8 Girls Division – Eiralinn Weaver, daughter of Celina and Cody Weaver, of Spring Run, Pa. W eaver shot 28 and placed fifth; U10 Girls Division – Elyana Wible, daughter of Tonya and Steve Wible, of McConnellsburg. Wible shot 23 placing eighth; U12 Girls

Division – Kaitlyn Fear, daughter of Grace and Jim Fear, of Mercersburg, Pa. Fear shot 27 placing sixth; U14 Girls Division – Makayley Shafer, daughter of Erin and Brian Shafer, of Harrisonville, Pa. Shafer shot 30 placing third; U16 Girls Division – Sandra Stotler, daughter of Jolene and Soloman Stotler, of Warfordsburg, Pa. Stotler shot 23 and was the 2022 Pa. State Runner-up.

In the boy’ s division: U8 Boys Division – Tanner Sheeder, son of Sunny and Jody Sheeder, of Warfordsburg. Sheeder shot 29 and was the 2022 PA State Runner-up; U10 Boys Division – Jakoby Hoover, son of Wendy and Sid Hoover, of Hustontown, Pa., placed seventh shooting 35; U12 Boys Division – Sawyer Wolf, son of Stacy and Steve Wolf, of Willow Hill, Pa., placed sixth shooting 27; U16 Boys Division – Jackson Skiles, son of Tasha and Dwight Skiles, of McConnellsburg, shot 45 and claimed the 2022 Pa. State Runner-Up Title.

The Elks are doing a Drug Poster Contest for all third, fourth and fifth graders; a Drug Essay Contest for sixth, seventh and eighth graders and an Americanism Essay Contest for fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grades. The annual Elks Hoop Shoot will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 starting at 3 p.m., for all boys and girls ages 8-13 (age is what age you are on April 1, 2023) at the Alumni Community Building in McConnellsburg. All events that the Elks offer are free.

Registration times are as follows: 8-9 year olds register from 3-3:25 p.m. Competition will start at 3:30 p.m., following the opening ceremonies. 10-11 year olds will register from 3:45-4:15 p.m., with the 12-13 year olds registering from 4:30-5 p.m.
