A free concert of bluegrass and roots music by The Furnace Mountain Band will be offered at Kirkwood Park in Hancock, Md., on Saturday, July 9 at 7 p.m..
The park is located at Kirk Farm Road and Creek Road. Furnace Mountain consists of musicians playing bass, fiddle, guitar, bouzouki, and mandolin. The band creates music that is at times lively and raucous, with spirited fiddle melodies and sublime vocal harmonies.
Furnace Mountain Band has performed throughout the world, from the Yangtze River in China to the banks of the Shenandoah River, where they are the host band of Watermelon Pickers’ Festival.
Furnace Mountain Band plays music from the American Appalachian traditions and original compositions.
