Troopers respond to crash
Just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, June 16, troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police McConnellsburg Barrack responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Great Cove Road and Thompson Road in Needmore.
Police said the crash occurred as a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by Lanette M. Deneen, 62, of Crystal Spring, was traveling south on Great Cove Road, attempting to make a left turn onto Thompson Road.
Deneen failed to yield right of way to a 2025 Toyota Corolla Cross, driven by Ashley R. Shotts, 35, of McConnellsburg, who was traveling north on Great Cove Road.
Police said Deneen’s vehicle proceeded to hit Shotts’ vehicle head on as a result of her turning left in front of Deneen.
Both vehicles suffered disabling front end damage and Bard’s towed both vehicles from the scene.
Shotts and Deneen were wearing their seatbelts, but they both reported injuries following the crash, police said.
Needmore Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.
