A crew from the C&O Canal National Historical Park was cleaning the weeds and growth in the canal’s basin along Canal Street on Thursday afternoon, June 4. It was during the May town meeting when former Mayor Dan Murphy, who is the president of the Hancock Historical Society, asked for ands granted permission from town officials to speak on their behalf to park officials regarding the condition of the watered area of the C&O Canal from Church Street to the US 522 bridge.
