A Hancock man was involved in a vehicle accident in Fulton County on April 16 in the area of Green Lane Road in Warfordsburg.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, just before 6:30 a.m., State Police in McConnellsburg received a report of a one vehicle crash on Green Lane Road in Bethel Township.

It was reported a 2018 Dodge Journey was abandoned on the roadway with no one present.

Through their investigation, police said the crash occurred as Mason Alexander Shaffer, 18, of Hancock, was traveling south on Green Lane Road and for an unknown reason, traveled off the south bound lane and struck a utility pole with the front right of the car.

The vehicle suffered major damage, however it continued to travel approximately half a mile south where it came to a final rest in the northbound lane facing south.

Police said the vehicle was towed from the scene by Bards Auto.

Shaffer was identified as the driver and was to be cited with several traffic citations through Judge Tamela Mellott Heming’s office.
