Six members of the Hancock FFA Chapter visited Hancock Elementary grades Pe-K through 5th grade on Monday, March 30.
Members taught the elementary school students about agriculture and how they are impacted by agriculture through plant science.
The students from the middle and senior high school also taught the elementary students about how plants grow from seeds, the agriculture program, and FFA chapter.
They also read to the elementary students at each grade level and taught a fun activity planting marigold seeds.
“At Hancock Middle Senior High School, we believe that students should be involved in all aspects of learning,” Agriculture Teacher and FFA Advisor Bethany Meyers said. “We grow by teaching others what we have learned.”
The FFA students were able to help bridge the gap between the new Agriculture Program at Hancock Middle-Senior High School the foundational elementary skills.
They also gained real-world public speaking and instructional experience, Meyers added.
“Connecting our elementary students to different opportunities that they will have in the future to inspire the next generation to grow into future leaders,” she said.
