No injuries in Warfordsburg crash

No one was injured in a Warfordsburg accident on Friday, May 9 when an SUV struck a truck on Mellott Drive.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the crash occurred shortly before 4 p.m. on Friday, May 9, when a 2013 Ford Explorer was traveling south on Mellott Drive and a 2011 Ford Truck was headed north.

Police said initial impact occurred when the Explorer, driven by Rod S. Putney, 47, of Point Pleasant, W.Va., failed to stay in its lane of travel and crossed over the centerline about four feet and making contact with the truck.

The truck was then sent over the east side of the road, striking a guide rail and coming to a final uncontrolled rest facing north.

Putney’s Explorer came to an uncontrolled rest after continuing another 200 yards before turning left and driving off the roadway on the east side of the roadway.
