Hancock elections for mayor & council seats to be held this April

The Town of Hancock municipal election will be held this April 21 as voters choose a mayor and two council members to serve the town.

Any resident in the corporate limits of the Town of Hancock who is 18 years of age and a registered voter in the town will be able to cast a ballot in the town election.

Anyone wishing to run for town office should declare their candidacy by February 21 at 3:30 p.m. by filling out the application for nomination, available at the Town Hall and Community Center at 126 West High Street.

Candidates must have lived in the town limits for at least one year immediately before the election. Those wishing to run can only choose one office to seek – either mayor or council.

Hancock’s elected mayors serve for a term of two years. Council members are elected to a four-year term.
