Anyone who has driven on Main Street near Roland’ s Garage may have noticed a portion of the street has been cut and repaved, leaving a noticeable bump in the road.
The westbound lane of Main Street in that area isn’t as bad as the eastbound lane.
Faith said Columbia Gas had run a line to one of the houses and did a temporary patch to the road and have to come back and fix it to spec.
Faith added they haven’t gotten back to it yet and he’d have to get in touch with the gas company to fix it as the state will eventually need to come through if it snows and plows Main Street.
Roof work is done
The work on the roof at Town Hall has been complete, Hancock Town Manager Mike Faith told town officials. There is still some work that needs to be done on the downspouts and gutters though.
A different crew will have to come in for that work, he said, which should happen in the next week or two.
“The important thing is the roof is done and we’ll won’t have to worry about a roof for 20 years,” Faith said.
There are bricks still sitting beside Town Hall, which came from the chimney that was torn down.
Faith said the town will keep the bricks if they need to do anything at Town Hall and they need bricks they’ll have them.
“We’ll never get bricks to match the building, so we’re going to hang on to those bricks,” he said.
