Trail Town Hancock hosted its annual Miracle on Main Street event in freezing temperatures on Saturday, November 30.
Vendors set up their wares on the sidewalk along Main Street, and shops were open. Martha’s House sold hamburgers, hot dogs and apple cider.
Members of the Hancock Arts Council caroled and played the accordion as they made their way down Main Street.
Volunteers from Hancock in Motion handed out hot cocoa and cookies to a small crowd gathered at Joseph Hancock Park.
Mayor Roland Lanehart, Jr. and other dignitaries welcomed townsfolk and visitors to a Christmas tree lighting ceremony in the park.
Following a blessing from the police chaplain, the Hancock Volunteer Fire Department arrived with Santa in tow, and the town’s Christmas tree lit up upon his arrival.
Families with young children lined up eagerly for their turn with Santa. Local Girl Scout troops were Santa’s elves, giving small toys to the children as they hustled away.
