Getting ready for Saturday night

Town crews were putting up the pine tree in Joseph Hancock Park on Friday afternoon, November 22, and getting it ready for this coming Saturday night, November 30, when it will be lit up as part of Miracle on Main. The tree, along with another in the small pavilion in Widmeyer Park, were purchased by the town from Cherry Run Christmas Tree Farm outside of Hancock for $500. Town Manager Mike Faith said the lights were to have been put on the tree, weather permitting, by Tuesday. Faith added there will be garland for the pavilion in Widmeyer Park as well. There will also be wreathes and lights on the 22 decorative green poles along Main Street. Faith said the lights on the trees will be colored and the ones along Main Street will be white.
