Hagerstown parking meters going coinless starting Friday

The City of Hagerstown announces that due to repeated meter break-ins by multiple perpetrators over the last couple of months, parking will be going coinless beginning on Friday, November 8. Cash will still be accepted for parking in decks/garages.

The acceptance of coins at meters will be phased out over a period of time with meters being taped or zip tied shut. Coin slots will also be taped shut. The attached sticker will be affixed to each meter to alert parkers.

Credit card payments for parking at meters will continue to be accepted through the PayByPhone app. In the event that a parker prefers or needs to use cash, they may do so by parking in the City decks/garages.

For more information, call the Parking Office at 301-739-8577, ext. 479 or 445.
