Murray honored for banner project

Former Hancock Councilman Leo Murray was honored last Tuesday evening, October 8, for the work he put in putting the Hancock Veterans Banner Project together. About an hour before the September town meeting, town officials, Murray, and Murray’s family met in Widmeyer Park to unveil a plaque in his honor. The plaque reads: “This project included installation of 50 poles and over 230 banners representing local veterans displayed in Widmeyer Park & the Veterans Memorial Library & was made possible by the hard work and dedication of Councilman Leo Murray (2016-2021) with the assistance from the Hancock Mayor & Council, the Washington County Commissioners and many private donors.
