“Members have created the Hancock Fire Company Mini-Museum in the upstairs portion of the fire station” said Greg Yost, Chairman of the project.
On display will be many fire company memorabilia dating back to the fire company’s inception in 1928. These items include firefighting protective clothing and tools used; photos and newspaper articles; general firefighting training books and official company minutes dating back to the formation of the fire company.
Memorial Wall
In the museum there is a Memorial Wall dedicated to those recently passed.
There is also a Presidents row and a Chiefs Row. This has photos of most of the Presidents and Chiefs of the fire company.
The museum will be an ongoing project, updating the existing displays and creating new ones of activities held in the future.
The public is invited to attend the Open House and Museum Dedication. The museum will be open to the public in the future whenever member availability makes it possible.
