Hancock man arrested on drug, firearm charges

Hancock Police arrested a Hancock man on August 15 after investigating crimes involving controlled dangerous substances (CDS).

According to Officer J. Walls of the Hancock Police Department, the Hancock Police, assisted by the Washington County Narcotics Task Force and Washington County Special Response Team, executed a search warrant in the area of Fulton Street in Hancock.

Police found Joshua Zeigler, 38, of Hancock, located in a hidden room in the basement of the residence.

Zeigler had four active warrants for his arrest through Washington County and an additional warrant through Franklin County, Pennsylvania.

Zeigler was arrested for both warrants and was additionally charged with multiple other offenses that include: CDS possession with intent to distribute: narcotics, CDS common nuisance: distribute narcotics, possession of a weapon while committing a controlled dangerous substance offense, CDS possession – not cannabis, CDS possession of paraphernalia, two counts firearm possession with a crime of violence/felony conviction, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, illegal rifle/shotgun possession by a disqualified person, and illegal possession of ammo.

Zeigler is being held at the Washington County Detention Center without bond and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 26.
