BlackCat Music Cooperative holds first ever Kiddie Music Kamp

Instructor Mike Kligerman leads young people in the first BlackCat Kiddie Music Kamp, with help from student musicians.

The BlackCat Kiddie Music Kamp, sponsored by BlackCat Music Cooperative, came to a close on Friday, July 19 after a weeklong program that included music, crafts, games, singing and so much more.

BlackCat Lead Instructor, Mike Kligerman, came up with the idea and program content for kids aged 6 to 9.

Meeting each weekday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the kids learned to play and sing songs, help create crafts for music use and play lots of games they shared together. Youngsters also had a snack break each day at 11 a.m. and talked about all the fun things ahead with instructors and camp helpers.

Organizers said the success of this year’s camp will lead to another program next year.
