The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has created as new program that will help increase the possibility of recovering stolen bicycles.
A Hancock event will introduce the service here.
The Sheriff’s Office is encouraging people in Washington County to use the new bicycle registration program to register their bikes.
The free service will increase the chances of those bikes being returned if lost or stolen.
The registration in Hancock will take place Tuesday, July 16, at the Hancock Police Department from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Registration information includes the owner’s contact information and the bicycle’s make, model, and serial number. That information will be kept in a database at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Any questions about the program should be directed to [email protected].
