CNB celebrates 90th year as community bank

CNB branches in Hancock and around the region celebrated the bank’s 90th anniversary on Thursday, June 20.

CNB Bank Inc. marked their 90th anniversary last week on Thursday, June 20 at all nine of their branches, including a newly-opened branch location on Virginia Avenue in Hagerstown. The Virginia Avenue branch opened on Monday, June 17.

CNB Bank Inc. began its banking history in 1934 as Citizen’s National Bank in Berkeley Springs. Through expansions and significant business growth, the bank is now a regional banking business serving individual and commercial customers with accounts, loans and wealth management services.

The bank has two branches in Berkeley Springs, plus locations in Hancock, Hedgesville, Martinsburg, Spring Mills and three Hagerstown branches – in Long Meadow, on Dual Highway and Virginia Avenue.

As of the last quarterly report from CNB Financial Services, Inc., parent company of CNB Bank, Inc., the financial institution’ s capital totaled $34.7 million, or 6% of its total assets of $622.2 million. The bank reported $550 million in deposits at the end of its last quarter.

Mark Harrell, President/ CEO of the bank, spread the message during the 90th anniversary week that CNB strives to be part of the financial success of the region’s economy through lending, financial services and community involvement to support charitable and service organizations in all of the communities the bank serves.
