The final food pantry at Hancock Middle-Senior High School will be Tuesday, May 21, at 4 p.m. and run until 4:45 p.m.
The food pantry is held on the third Tuesday of each month during the school year through May in the school’s cafeteria.
Those who have been attending the food pantry have been lining up before students have left the building. School officials want to remind people and emphasize they are to wait in their vehicles until students and buses have left the school and parking lot.
They ask people to stay in their vehicles until 10 minutes before the scheduled time before lining up for the food pantry.
This is for the safety of the students, staff, and those who are coming for the food pantry.
The food pantry at Hancock Middle-Senior High School comes from a monthly donation from the Maryland Food Bank, which makes the food pantry possible.
The food available varies from month to month and while people are “shopping” for items they need, the school does ask people to be mindful of others while at the food pantry.
