Police ask public for help in infant death case

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the death of an infant who was found in an intersection in McConnellsburg on Monday morning.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, at approximately 8:45 a.m. on Monday, March 11, troopers from the McConnellsburg Barracks responded to Lincoln Way East at the intersection of South Second Street and upon arrival at the scene, discovered an unresponsive infant.

Despite immediate medical intervention, the infant was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Fulton County Coroner’s Office.

The circumstances surrounding the infant’s death are currently under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police.

Preliminary findings indicate the situation is suspicious, and investigators are working to ascertain the cause and circumstances of the death.

Authorities urge anyone with information relevant to this case to come forward and assist in the investigation, regardless of how insignificant the details may seem.
