Hancock’s boys basketball team clawed their way to a last-quarter win against Faith Christian Academy on Friday, February 9, 59-58.
The Panthers were ahead 30-28 after the second quarter, but were nearly overcome by the Falcons as they outshot Hancock in the third quarter. But the Panther boys roared back to life in the final quarter, putting 19 points on the board to outpace the Falcons by a single point by the final buzzer.
Juniors Jacob Anderson and Aiden McCarty each put 17 points on the scoreboard for Hancock in the win, and sophomore Ethan Hill added 11 points in the tight contest.
Hancock heads into this week’s games 4-14 this season. They were set to match up against Calvary Christian Academy on Tuesday, with snowy weather likely to upset the schedule. The Panthers will host Forbes Road on Thursday and travel to Union on Friday.
