Hancock picks up win during busy week on the court

Hancock’s boys’ varsity basketball team added another win to their column during a three-game week that brought their record to 3-13 for the season.

The Panthers won against the Hyndman Hornets last Tuesday, January 30, putting 78 points on the scoreboard to Hyndman’s 49. Junior Aiden McCarty led the Panthers with 25 points in the sweep. Every single member of the team added to the scoreboard against the Hornets.

On Wednesday, January 31, the Panther boys fell to Northern Garrett’s Huskies 79-37 as Northern busted out of the gate with 22 points in the first quarter and continued at that rate for the full game. Hancock rallied in the third quarter with 15 points but couldn’t catch up.

On Friday, February 2, Hancock lost to the Paw Paw Pirates, 78-67.

The Panthers will travel to Willow Hill, Pa. to play the Fannett Metal Tigers tonight, February 7. On Thursday night, Hancock will host Faith Christian Academy, with the boys varsity game tipping off at 7 p.m.
