Panther girls grab first win against Faith Christian

Hancock’ s girls varsity basketball team grabbed their first win of the season from the Faith Christian Academy Falcons on Thursday, January 25 with a final score of 39-30.

Senior Skylar Smith was the top scorer of the winning game, putting 19 points on the board for the Panthers. Senior Alyssa Morris added 11 points to boost the girls over the Falcons.

Thursday’s game topped a busy week for the Lady Panthers, who fell to the Berkeley Springs Indians on Monday, January 22 and hosted Grace Academy on Tuesday, January 23. Grace topped Hancock 55-21 in that contest.

Basketball continued for another busy week for the girls. Monday’s game against Forbes Road ended in a loss, 44-15 as Hancock struggled against heavy scoring by Forbes Road from the first quarter on.

The Lady Panthers are set to host the Northern Garrett Huskies tonight, Wednesday, January 31, at 5:30 p.m. and will travel to the Maryland School for the Deaf on Thursday, February 1. They’ll be back on their home court on Friday, February 2 against Union at 5:30 p.m.
