The Turkeyfoot Valley Area Rams pushed ahead of the Lady Panthers during home basketball action last Thursday, January 11, winning over Hancock 51-22. Turkeyfoot is 7-8 for their season.
The Rams rolled up 10 points in the first quarter, with the Panthers putting four points on the board. In the second quarter, Hancock turned up the heat, adding 12 points to the board, but falling short of Turkeyfoot’s 14 points in that quarter. The Rams solidified their lead
with another 10 points in the third quarter as Hancock struggled to get the ball in the basket. Turkeyfoot rallied hard in the fourth quarter, putting 17 more points on the board to Hancock’s 6 points by the final buzzer.
Hancock’ s Hannah Stouffer led the Panthers in scoring, with 6 points against the Rams. Seniors Keelyn Seal and Amy Davis both added 4 points to the board while sophomores Kaydence Gaither and Brooklyn McCusker each contributed 3 points.
Hancock fell to the Berkeley Springs Indians 54-10 on Friday, January 12.
The Lady Panthers were set to play Union, weather permitting, on Tuesday, January 16 at home. Then they will hit the road to face Northern Garrett on Thursday, January 18 at 5:30 p.m. Hancock will get a second chance against the Berkeley Springs Indians next Monday, January 22 at 6 p.m. with a home court faceoff.
