Hancock boys looking for next win on the court

Hancock Boys Varsity Basketball will pick up action once again next Tuesday, January 9 against Turkeyfoot Valley Area High School as the Panthers set their sights on wins for the 2024 portion of the season.

Players closed out 2023 playing Turkeyfoot at the Holiday Classic in Salisbury, Pa. The Rams plowed ahead in tournament play, winning 88-49 over Hancock. Panther players sunk 27 points in the first two quarters, but couldn’t keep up with the Rams’ scoring through the first three quarters.

Just before the holiday break, Hancock fell to Salisbury Elk Lick, 66-46 on December 21. The Panthers had kept close pace to the Elks in the first three quarters, but the Elks rallied before the buzzer, rolling in 20 points in the fourth quarter to seal their win.

At last update, Jacob Anderson was Hancock’s top scorer, with an average of 10 points per game.
