A little Hocus Pocus on Main Street

by Lisa Schauer

Martha’s House and the Interfaith Service Coalition screened a free Halloween movie on Saturday evening, October 21, along with hot dogs, popcorn, s’mores, hot cocoa, and giveaways for local families gathered at Martha’s House on Main Street in Hancock.

The event had been set for Friday outdoors on a large inflatable screen, but heavy rains and high winds over the weekend moved all activities indoors on Saturday.

Police manned the s’mores station out front, which was moved indoors with the high winds.

Halloween decorations adorned Martha’s House as the kitchen bustled and tables of families waited for free treats and a screening of the Disney Halloween classic Hocus Pocus, starring Bette Midler, in the community center’s theater.
