Flags fly in honor, memory of heroes

Hancock Rotary Club continued their Fourth of July week- end tradition by planting small American flags by the War Memorial in Widmeyer Park on Thursday, June 29. The flags were planted in honor and memory of heroes in the Hancock area by their loved ones. Each flag honored military person- nel, police, firefighters, first responders, teachers, mentors, family members, or anyone who had been a a hero to the sponsor of the flag. There were 251 flags planted in the park this year in honor of local heroes.
