The flags were planted in honor and memory of heroes in the Hancock area by their loved ones. Each flag honored military person- nel, police, firefighters, first responders, teachers, mentors, family members, or anyone who had been a a hero to the sponsor of the flag. There were 251 flags planted in the park this year in honor of local heroes.photos by Geoff Fox
