Drainage & bridge work continues on I-70 ramp to U.S. 40

Maryland highway work continues on a section of ramp between eastbound I-70 and US 40 (National Pike) at Exit 9  in Indian Springs. Work started last month and will be ongoing through this week, weather permitting.

The bridge will be closed and traffic will be detoured daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday, April 7, weather permitting. No lane closures will occur on I-70 in either direction.

Drivers will be detoured during work hours and will be guided to Exit 12/MD 56 (Big Pool Road) and back to U.S. 40. Signs, cones and barrels will be used to navigate motorists through the work zone.

Concrete General Inc., of Gaithersburg, will perform the work.

Drivers are asked to slow down through the work zone for the safety of all drivers and the crews working to improve our roadways.

As the spring season arrives, drivers are urged to remain vigilant for pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorcyclists.

Motorists in need may dial #77 on their mobile device for roadside assistance.
