CAMP JOY home repair applications now available

CAMP JOY is now accepting applications from homeowners for outdoor home repairs to be completed July 10-21. Qualifying applicants must be elderly, disabled and/or living on a very limited and fixed income.

Applications are available at the Berkeley Springs, Paw Paw and Warfordsburg senior centers, as well as Loaves and Fishes Thrift Store (Hancock), Hancock Veterans Memorial Library and Hancock United Methodist Church. Downloaded forms are accessible at www.hancockumc.org/CJ. Completed applications are due back by May 15.

For more than 30 years, CAMP JOY has provided home repairs for tri-state area (Md., W.Va., Pa.) homeowners who do not have the means to take on the work themselves. Teams of youth and their supervising adults have completed thousands of home repair and improvement projects ranging from yard clean-up to handicap ramps. It’s a transformational “giving expression” in the lives of the workers as well.

The repairs are free to applicants; however, donations are gratefully accepted. CAMP JOY is a non-profit Christian outreach ministry of the Hancock United Methodist Church. For more information, call 301-678- 6440.
