Clyde William “Casey” Fields, age 91, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Monday, September, 12, 2022 at War Memorial Hospital.

Born March 16, 1931 in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., he was the son of the late Neil St. Clair and Bessie Rebecca Moss Fields.

He was a Methodist. He attended Berkeley Springs High School. Casey served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War from April 8, 1952 until his honorable discharge on April 3, 1954 at the rank of Private First Class. He retired from General Motors as a parts handler and then retired from Berkeley Springs State Park as a masseuse. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union, a life member of Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post #60 and Risinger-Stotler V.F.W. Post #4019. Casey enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

He is survived by his children, Diana Lee Everett and her husband John and Pamela Sue MacCumbee, both of Berkeley Springs and Kimberly Jo Hanback and her husband Tony, of Martinsburg, W.Va., eight grandchildren, Wendy Nicole McBee Seltzer of Williamsport, Md., Dustin William MacCumbee of Inwood, W.Va., and Kasi Jo Abbott of Hedgesville, W.Va., Kristen Renee McBee Lucas, Robert “Joe” Jackson, Jr., Candida Everett, Ulysses John Everett III and Danielle Everett, all of Berkeley Springs, eight great-grandchildren, Kamryn Nicole Seltzer of Williamsport, Md., Trenton Drake Lucas, Mariah Tucker, Natashia Humphrey, Shalynn Humphrey and Kailie Fieser, all of Berkeley Springs, Emma Carola of Inwood, W.Va. and Stella Glendora Abbott of Hedgesville, W.Va., four great-great-grandchildren, Asher Michael King, Braxton Michael Fieser, Adalynn May Langenstein and Leighla Peach Butler, all of Berkeley Springs and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Glendora Shambaugh Fields on December 9, 2017, one grandson, James Hiser-Hanback, one great-grandson, Jamison Clyde Abbott, seven sisters, Pauline Margaret McManus, Edna Josephine Fox, Anna Lee Swisher, Edith Maxine Whisner, Thelma Irene “Tootie” Trail, Wanda Jean Stotler and Genevieve Fields, five brothers, George Elwood, John Cornelius, James Cornelius, Robert Eugene “Bunky” and infant Harry Fields.

Funeral services were conducted at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. with military honors provided by the Tri-State Honor Guard. Pastors Dick Voorhaar officiated. Private interment was in Greenway Cemetery.

The family received friends from 3-6 p.m. on Friday.
