Webster B. Harrison, American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 26, recently hosted the first meeting of the new Western Maryland Region – District 7.

Brenda Francis, Unit President welcomed approximately 30 members to the post, including President Georgia Myers of the 8th District. President Myers presented District and Department (State) award for year 2021/2022.

The following awards were presented to Webster B. Harrison:

District: Americanism – second place, Children & Youth – second, Community Service – first, Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation – first, Best Work in a VA Hospital – first and All around activities – second.

Department: Home & Field Service – second, Community Service – second, Cancer Control – second, Education – second, Gold Star – third, Americanism – first, Chaplain – first, Poppy – third and Public Relations – third.

The American Legion Auxiliary meets at the post on the first Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. All members are encouraged to attend.

The unit members are currently accepting donations of new baby items for the Martinsburg VA Hospital Baby Shower on September 29. Over 40 veterans have participated in the W omen’ s Maternity Program this year and the VA, American Legion Auxiliary and other volunteer service organizations work hard.
