Starting Thursday, August 21, drivers on Interstate 70 in Fulton County will begin to experience delays due to PennDOT paving the interstate.

PennDOT is warning drivers to expect minor delays along the interstate during the project.

From August 21 through September 5, the westbound right lane and shoulder of I-70 will be closed from mile marker 165 to mile marker 170 at the Maryland state line for milling and paving operations.

Starting on September 3 through September 5, the eastbound right lane and shoulder of the interstate will be closed from mile marker 170 at the Maryland state line to mile marker 165 for milling and paving operations.

New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co., Inc., of New Enterprise, Pa, is the lead contractor for the $30.9 million pavement preservation project, which includes 25 miles of I-70, the rehabilitation of eight bridge structures, and the replacement of a box culvert in Fulton County.

Additional work includes milling and resurfacing, new pavement markings, new signs, guiderail upgrades, sealing joints, and tree cutting.
