Stella Jean Moon McKinney
1939-2025
Stella Jean Moon McKinney, age 85, of Hancock, Md., passed away Monday, August 11, 2025.
Born Wednesday, October 25, 1939, in Washington D.C., she was the daughter of the late Sherman and Stella Mackenzie Moon.
Stella worked in Washington D.C. as a keypunch operator for many years before retiring to Hancock, Md.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.
Stella is survived by two brothers, William Moon (Edith), Sherman Moon (Terrie); numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by two sisters, Marge Solomon (Ed) and Kathryn Ferris (Marvin).
Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, August 18, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church. Celebrant, Father Jack Lombardi. Burial followed at Damascus Cemetery, 717 Big Cove Tannery Road, Big Cove Tannery, PA 17212.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Stella’s name can be made to Adopt a Boxer Rescue, PO Box 154 Olyphant, PA 18447.
Arrangements were entrusted to Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, MD 21750.
