1941-2026
Stephen M. Holohan Sr, 85, of Little Orleans, Md., passed away on Monday, October 19, 2026.
Born July 18, 1941, in Washington D.C., he was the son of the late Elder B. and Mary E. (Kenny) Holohan, and the husband of Rita I. (Hopfer) Holohan who was married on June 8, 1963.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Hancock, Md.
He is survived by two children, one son, Stephen M. Holohan, Jr. and wife Mariann (Monachello) and daughter Denise Marshall and husband Joeseph; three granddaughters, Jennifer Younker, Darlene Deener and Colleen Holohan; and five great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Mary M. Christian of Wisc.; and two brothers, John J and wife Jackie of Manassa, Va., and Michael P. of Rockville, Md.; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded by one sister, Claire Augustine and two brothers, Benedict Elder and Martin James.
He was a lover of the mountains and the ocean. He lived in the mountains and visited the ocean often. He loved the outdoors.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2026, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 16 E Main St, Hancock, MD 21750. Father John J. Lombardi will officiate. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
