It seems like school just let out last week, but students in the area will be heading back to school in the coming weeks.
Morgan County and Southern Fulton both begin next week with Morgan starting on Tuesday, August 18, and Southern Fulton starting next Wednesday, August 19. Hancock is the last to start.
Hancock students get an extra week to prepare for school as they start on Tuesday, August 25.
Students heading back to Hancock Elementary have a Back to School Night on Thursday, August 20, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
There they’ll be able to meet the teachers, visit classrooms, meet community partners, and have free food for families.
Across the street at Hancock Middle-Senior High School, they’ll be greeted by a new principal, Andrew Kaetzel, who will be taking the reins after Jennifer Ruppenthal retired following last school year.
